How it works

1. You set the practice.

In the teacher builder, pick a game, a difficulty and a number of rounds — say, "5 rounds of interval practice, for Thursday's lesson." You get a link, a QR code and a ready-to-paste message.

2. Students open the link.

The class code or QR opens the regular game page with your settings and a thin assignment header. No account, no download, no sign-up wall — it works on the family phone.

3. The data stays on their device.

Students practice about two minutes a day. Results are saved in their own browser, on their own device — never on our servers. They bring their progress card to the next lesson.

FAQ

What data do you collect about my students?

None. There are no student accounts, and no student data is sent to our servers. When a student opens an assignment link, the settings are read from the link inside the browser, the game runs in the browser, and the results are saved on the student's own device. If you want to verify this, open the browser's developer tools and watch the network — we invite you to.

Do we need a data-processing agreement (DPA) or parental consent?

In our understanding, no — because our tool does not process student personal data, there is typically no student-data processing relationship to put under contract, and nothing for parents to consent to on our side. Our compliance one-pager states the facts your operator or DPO needs to make that call. (Factual product description, not legal advice; your institution makes its own determination.)

Do students need an account or an app?

No. There is nothing to register for and nothing to install. The link opens a normal web page.

What devices and browsers does it work on?

Any reasonably current browser on a phone, tablet or computer — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. There is no minimum device requirement beyond "it has a browser and, for the sound games, audio".

Does it work offline?

You need an internet connection to load the page. Once loaded, a round runs entirely in the browser. There is no offline install, and nothing to update.

What do I see as a teacher?

At launch: what your student shows you. Each student has a progress card on their device and brings it to the lesson — on their phone or as a saved copy. Planned for a later release: students can generate a small result code (QR) that you scan and collect on your own computer — and even then, results travel from the student's device to yours, never through our servers.

Is there advertising?

The /teach and /education pages are always ad-free, and no ads are ever shown while an assignment is active. The free public game pages may carry unobtrusive ads for casual visitors in the future — that is what keeps the student side free.

What languages are available?

The student game pages run in nine languages: English, Hungarian, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Chinese and Arabic. The teacher tools launch in English, with Hungarian and German planned next.

Can I use the results for grading?

We'd rather you didn't. This is a practice tool: the progress card shows practice done and progress made — it is not a standardized measurement of ability. It works well as homework-completion evidence and as a conversation starter at the next lesson.

What if it's not for us?

Every license comes with a 14-day full refund — one email to hello@hearkle.com and it's done. Keys are yearly, with no auto-lock-in games.
